Fantastic service from Margaret, Stephen and Allan, extremely friendly and provided fantastic advice about what to see and do (and when to do it!). As an example, I'd booked a cruise for my girlfriend and I for a day later in the week, Margaret came to us later and informed us the weather would probably be bad and to switch to an earlier cruise. It turned out perfectly because the original day I'd booked the weather was terrible!

The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable (just make sure to put your food in the fridge, those little ants are omnipresent in Cairns. What more is there to say?

The place is great, the people are fantastic and the location is perfect. Highly recommended!

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Melalueca resort in beautiful palm cove.. On arrival we were greeted by hosts Margaret and Stephen who were very friendly through-out our whole stay and could not do anymore for us. They knew everything about the local area, tours etc.. We booked two tours through Margaret, one to great barrier reef from Port Douglas and one to Fitzroy island and both of them were superb!

Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, had a super comfy bed, laundry and big balcony looking straight across to the beach. The beach itself is 20 meters at most from the resort and is lined with palm trees, very pretty.. The pool area is lovely and clean, a great way to cool down and enjoy the immaculate gardens that surround it.

Palm cove is quiet and relaxing however has got a wide variety of restaurants, bars, spas all within easy walking distance of Melalueca.. We particularly enjoyed sipping cocktails and cold beers in vivo's and in the rising sun looking out at the beach.
Getting into the centre of Cairns is easy, the bus goes every 30 minutes from right outside of melaleuca and this service runs late into the night.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we would highly recommend palm cove for a relaxing get-away and would definitely recommend melalueca as a great place to stay

Very clean rooms. Furniture is all in a good condition and looks pretty new. Fans and air-con throughout.
We stayed on the top floor and had very nice views of the Pool and then beach beyond that.
Very handy having large fridge freezer(big supermarket 5 mins drive away)
Hosts had lots of local information and shared recommendations with us whenever we met. Was given card for 10% off at local pub (which did good food).
Great location about half way down the street, putting you close to everything.

There are fancier spa resorts with bigger pools just up the street but you'll obviously have to pay more for them!

Helpful staff, nice rooms (freebie, un-asked for upgrade to a room with a balcony has probably biased my review!).

Coming home to air conditioning was a welcome relief after a long day. The pool was a perfect way of cooling off and staying that way.

BBQ facility was very welcome as we just grabbed a few steaks at the (short drive away) supermarket and saved a fortune avoiding the local food establishments (hefty prices!). Pete's fish & chips was just on the corner and provided some great breakfasts/lunches/dinners for a fraction of the local restaurants. Yes, I'm cheap, well you would be too after a few bank-breaker meals in the area!
