“Beautiful location, good restaurant - count your change!”

It's not the first time i have eaten in the restaurant and had a problem with the change.
I may not speak Spanish and they may not know me but i do visit Las Terrenas often and i resent being short changed! Oh, and they know it as when you call them over to discuss it they have a problem hearing you. Maybe if they hire honest servers I'll go back but it has left a bad taste in my mouth!

“Great Property, Great Beach, and Good Dinning”

We landed at Hotel Bahia Las Ballenas on our honeymoon wandering around Samana. We had no reservations and ended up with an oceanfront room. The beach is palm tree lined and post card material literally steps from our room. The little bungalows were setup fantastic included a small deck on the front. The pool facilities were enjoyed each afternoon after a day in the sun, sand, and salt water. The restuarant service was great and we enjoyed our time with all the other travelers. Mainly French customers, but we met some of the nicest French people in our lives traveling as Americans. We even ended up renting 4 wheelers and spending the day with some other French expats rumbling to Playa El Valle for the day. Overall, great property, good service, and quality clientele.

“Lovely hotel, great food, very relaxing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2010

This is a charming French-owned hotel with cute thatched roof bungalows and a fabulous restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was great. The owner and his family manage the property and pay a lot of attention to detail. We really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to coming back. This is a great place to rest and relax.

“perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

We've been in Las Terranas for my anniversary and planned to stay only 2 nights in this hotel, but we loves it so much that we decided to spend all our holidays there. Everything is nice: location is genius, bungalow are spacious, the beach is nice, the stuff is adorable. We hope to come back there soon.

“COCKROACHES PARADISE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2010

It seemed at first a paradise location. A charming hotel in a beautiful beach, lovely bungalows decorated in a mixed French-Mexican style, a nice swimming pool, good food, impeccable gardens, so on and so forth.
But it is really amazing how what it seemed to be the beginning of an unforgettable trip can turn into a nightmare when you find out that your mattress is full of COCKROACHES!
The manager at first tried to help and promised to have my room fumigated.
Things just got worse in our second night when we discovered new COCKROACHES - this time near our pillows!
We had a long and sleepless night. Needless to say we left the following day.
The manager did not charge us the food we had.
