This charming Victorian estate is situated on the crest of a small, but commanding knoll surrounded by rolling lush green hills dotted with grazing sheep. We couldn't have imagined a more welcoming experience starting with the tree-lined entrance lane up the hill which was guarded by mason lions. The building sits majestic with its red roof and white walls contrasting against the green valleys; its tower reaching up to offer a full view of the surrounding countryside all the way to the ocean.
We thoroughly enjoyed the innkeepers, their hospitality and fine cooking. Their interior decor shows they have great taste, mixing newer and more modern pieces of furniture with the victorian bones of the building. They make it work by tying local New Zealand native pieces into the fabric of the design. Friendly and inviting they gave us fantastic recommendations for our visit.
Among the most impressive points about this property is its location. We webbed out from the estate in all directions, embibing at the varous wineries and sight-seeing throughout the region. The local dining is fantastic and you'll find yourself debating as to whether you want to "go out to dinner" or dine in on the innkeepers' faire. Either way, you'll go to bed stuffed and satisfield.
We cannot say enough about this property and we have recommended it to many friends and to many business acquaintances. Likewise, we extend to you our positive impression and wonderful experience of the place. Go there and enjoy yourselves.
