We chose Motel Russell for its central position and reasonable cost and we were most impressed on both counts. With a variety of rooms available, we initially booked a studio with tea/coffee facilities but no kitchen. Then before leaving home, we contacted the very pleasant owners, Trish and Serge, to see if we could upgrade to a unit with kitchen - (another $NZ4 only!). A unit was unavailable, but we were immediately offered a 1 bedroom unit with full kitchen facilities for the same price - great PR!!
The unit was spotless, well-appointed and quiet. A free, light continental breakfast was part of the tariff - so we would challenge any moteliers in the district to offer better value for money - $NZ99 for modern,spacious, separate bedroomed, fully equipped with continental breakfast. Hard to beat!

Motel Russell is a nicely arranged motel with different sizes of units in several sections and a good amount gardens and space in between. We had a one bedroom apartment which was well equiped and very clean. Overall we were quite impressed and the manager was pleasant and made us feel right at home and the price was reasonable.

This is a great motel for groups. We had several apartments with kitchens located together with a common outdoor area to share. Everything was just right and in good condition. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We liked it and recommend.

Good size rooms, nice and clean reasonable price and nice short walk to restaurants.
