More like a hotel with (clean) shared bathrooms than a backpacker this place was really lovely. A bit more expensive than the the bare bones backpacker but their location, services and amenities (pub in the basement, free breads at breakfast, lots of places to sit and hang out, pay Internet terminals, clear rules about quiet times, huge kitchen etc) more than make it worth every penny. Right on trafalgar square they are easy walking distance to the pubs and resteraunts.

We stayed there with our son the night before we went hiking in Abel Tasman and really enjoyed it.

I've been in the Accents on the Park three times in 2010 and 2011. The Hostel ist very close to the center, very clean and has a nice touch. The beds are mostly comfortable and the size of the rooms is ok. I had a really nice time there in Winter, when I spend almost three weeks there so I would recommend to stay there. But! Yes, there is a but.
The Owners, especially Royce is a little bit weird and you can't rely on his word. In the first impression he seem to be very friendly but actually he isn't. And they set some strange rules like... You can only stay with us when you stay at least two nights or you can't get a discount for 7 nights if you pay by credit card. What???
Ok, anyway....don't care about the guys at the reception (Shawn is a nice guy) and you will have a nice time. Especially in Winter.

We had fantastic stay at accents on the park. The staff were extremely helpful and the hostel facilities were great.

Friendly owners, spotlessLy clean, large rooms, this hostel was far more like a hotel than a hostel. We particularly liked the underfloor heating! Would recommend to everyone!
