Begining of 2012 my family stayed at this lovely house in Oamaru. It is a short drive a leisurely walk to the town area (but remember it is on a hill). The house itself was everything we needed i.e. a home away from our Auckland home. It is very spacious and comfortable, the layout of the kitchen and dining area with the park bench just outside the front door lends itself to a welcoming family atmosphere condusive for family talks, cups of coffee in the morning etc. We needed to use many of the utensils and bits 'n pieces in the house because we were talking part in a family event in the lovely town of Oamaru and everything is there!! Except maybe a nail cutter (just kidding). Highly recommended if you need basically what amounts to having your own home transported to Oamaru with you family of course! Don't forget to say hello to the friendly moggie outside the door in the mornings.

This is an older style place where your bathmat is shaped into a bow in the bottom of the shower. We had a great stay here, save for an unfortunate party across the street, but nothing major. The place was spotless and the bed comfortable. What more do you want?

We arrived early, but our room was all ready and the owner was very helpful in showing us where to go to visit the penguins (the main reason for our trip to Oamaru). It was situated within easy walk to the main town. The room was clean and comfortable and the kitchenette had a full electric cooker and hob, microwave and fridge. It is on a main road, but the noise didn't affect us at all.

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our travels, our room was large with well equiped kitchen. Decor was 1970's but not unusual in some motels in NZ.

Motel on main road, less than 10min walk to the main town centre.
