This motel is dreadful,although he knew what time we would be arriving, the manager picked us up from the airport and moaned all the way to the motel. In the pictures there is a nice garden there but it is impossible to get to. If you ask for a taxi to get into the city, you get one of the manager's family whio charges more than the correct fare. However there is a bus stop right outside the motel and you would be wise to use the bus.

We wanted a room just for one night next to the airport as we were flying out early in the morning. The room was acceptable although there was rubbish outside the door on the ground. We had been driving all day and just wanted to have some dinner and go to bed so we went into the hotel dining room to see what they offered. We found that the table settings were covered in crumbs and oil stains. At first we thought it was just the one table and tried to find another one, but to our amazement they were all the same. Then the waiter came to speak to us and his trousers were also covered in stains. It was so disgusting that we nearly ran out of the place and finally had dinner down the road at the Holiday Inn's restaurant.

At only $NZ75 complete with 14 days free car parking, airport shuttle and breakfast, this is amazing value...highly recommended for a one night stay...units although basic, have a kitchen and ensuite bathroom and are comfortable and clean.

What is confusing about this property is that is is right next door to the Aukland airport kiwi HOTEL. I booked at the MOTEL because it looked nicer it he pictures. However, when we arrived we were given a room in the HOTEL because the MOTEL was full. On our way out of NZ we also stayed here and in the MOTEL (as booked). So I can speak to the differences between them as well as shared amenities. We arrived at 12:45am after flying from Los Angeles through Sydney. When I called for the shuttle I was told it would take 25 min. We didn't get into our room until almost 2am. The room in the HOTEL was quite run down and not the cleanest. The free breakfast in the morning (same for the hotel and motel) was toast, corn flakes, juice, and coffee. for $5 extra you could get eggs and bacon. The MOTEL room we stayed in the way out of aukland was much bigger, it had a full living room, kitchenette, and separate bedroom. You could tell that they took some short cuts on building the rooms. For one, I shorted out the breaker when blow drying my hair. I suppose for one night either the hotel or motel is fine (the motel was better). The free shuttle is nice, but the breakfast is nothing special.
