this one of the cleanest hostels we stayed at. the facilities are good the shared areas are kept nice and tidy. and next is brilliant at booking fraser island trips especially the ones where you get to drive your own fwd. really welcoming staff. if in hervey stay there!

Prior to staying here we contacted Next Backpackers to arrange our trip to Frazer Island.
Kat and Mark were extremely helpul and knowledgeable throughout and made booking our trip much easier so i would certainly recommend them for any trips that you might be planning whilst in Hervey Bay.
Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet which ensured a great nights sleep.
We felt that this was by the friendliest and most welcoming hostel that we stayed at during our trip. A special mention must be made to Kat who we felt went out of her way to offer us advice on where to eat, tips for trips etc. Her helpfulness certainly helped make our trip all the more enjoyable. Infact, the nearby Steak House that she recommended to us was so good that we went there twice! So thank you for telling us about it!
Would recommend hostel to anyone wishing to stay at Hervey Bay.

I stayed there one night, transiting to Fraser Island.
The price is average but I was in the smallest mixed dorm ever.
Have been freezing all night even if i had a blanket (10$ deposit) and there are only 2 bathrooms (3 showers available) for 10 dorms.
Breakfast for 2$.
Very small kitchen. I guess people don't stay here very long usually (so they don't cook much in here)
Nice cinema room.
Clean hostel.
Always very expensive Internet and Wi-Fi with Global Gossips. Vodafone users, there is not much network for you in this place.

Wow! What a great hostel. I arrived very early in Harvey Bay (730am) and was able to get a free pick up from the bus. Even this early I was able to check in strait away. The room was really clean & the floors are wooden and nice. I found out later from Cat (receptionist and sometimes cleaning), that they are actually Frasier Island timber floors.

It only cost $22 for the night. and breakfast was only $2. So it ends up cheaper than most of other hostels who include theyre 'free' breakfast bust charge more. The kitchen was great! Plenty of plates and cups, and the staff seem to try to keep it clean as possible. CHEAP DRINKS! $3 REAL wine, and $3 beers! And the staff even drink there to meet guests and have a chat. It was nice to see they wanted to mix with us too.

The best part... the free movies. I think it was 750 movies? And a quiet and dark room with nice big screen. did I mention FREE? Just needed popcorn!

I had already booked my Frasier Trip, but Cat was happy to help me with Whitesundays too. She didnt just rattle off the normal fod that tour sales people do, she found out what I wanted to do first. It was a nice change. The older guy (Peter i think? sorry) was nice and helpful too. And the manager (i think) was pretty laid back as well. The worst thing about this hostel was one lady at reception who was always grumpy. And sick, and didnt bother covering her mouth to cough. She didnt seem to want to help at all. A shame, but I guess there is always one.

If I come back through Harvey Bay, I will deffo stay again!
