We arrived in Hervey Bay without a booking but were able to get a nice 2-bedroom apartment at La Mer. Perfectly located right across the beach, near some restaurant and bars. We highly recommend the Black Dog Cafe. Fantastic food !!!!
Bob is very friendly, helpful and uncomplicated.
By the way, Charlie Buckets Internet Cafe and Booking office along the same street is great for any tour bookings.

We are a family of four who stayed at La Mer for five nights in September 2008. I was very happy with the apartment which was very spacious. The decor was not ultra-modern but it was very comfortable. Great showers, comfortable beds, a good range of TV channels and a DVD player as well. The kitchen was very well stocked (not always the norm) and the location was brilliant with the beach directly across the road, lots of places to eat nearby and a small supermarket less than 5 minutes walk down the road. There is a BBQ on site - immaculately clean and with everything you need right there. The apartment was also very quiet with no noise from the other units. I was very happy with everything and would go back in a shot.

My only criticisms are that the pool (which is supposed to be solar heated) was not very warm in September despite the high air temperatures. The kids braved it, but it was only on the last day that I felt it was warm enough for me to go in. Also there isn't a lot of storage space in the kitchen for food. But otherwise, I can't fault La Mer and I highly recommend it. I must also mention the staff - so friendly and extremely helpful. A very pleasant experience.

I have just returned from my 7 night stay at La Mer and it was so nice I didn't want to leave.

The furnishings were tasteful and comfortable, lovely comfy bed, dishwasher, washer and dryer available in the apartment.

Situated within an easy flat walk from the shops and restaurants and opposite the beach.

Kevin and Bob who man reception went out of their way to be helpful, give advice and were extremely pleasant and friendly.

Needless to say I am going back September 2009.

Undercover parking, very friendly and informative manager, inground pool, private balcony (third level), lift (even had a fan in the lift for hot days!!) beautiful spacious apartment with modern interior and everything you needed (incl lovely kitchen with a dishwasher), right across the road from the beach, short walk to shops - I can't wait to return. Why would anyone consider a poky hotel room when you can have an apartment you could happily live in for weeks. When we walked in we said Wow! It was the best accommodation we had during our two week driving holiday and I would recommend it to everyone. This place is great!
