Me and my girlfriend had a meal here back in October, everything was perfect from the food to the setting, the log fire and the really nice lady behind the bar. A hidden gem!

My husband & I chose Donegal house for our wedding venue. The amazing gardens and onsite accommodation were big things for us. It is a little way out of kaikoura but that made it so much better for what we wanted.
The rooms were nice and quite spacious the only thing they need is a wee fridge otherwise no complaints. All if our guests stayed here too and I never heard anything bad from them either. The complimentary breakfast with the accommodation was a good way to get everyone some food in them for the day and allowed us to socialise a bit before.
Kate was amazing with making sure everything was all ready and how we wanted it we really can't praise her enough she really helped to make this a memorable occasion.
I really couldn't recommend this enough as a wedding venue I got a little worried before from some of the reviews but everything was perfect for us. They happily cut some of the plants for where we wanted our ceremony I don't even recall needing to ask.

Stayed two nights while on a work trip through Kaikoura. Six of us had an evening meal and it was great. Everyone enjoyed the food, lovely big meals. One of the group was vegan/dairy free and was catered too. The owner Murray joined us for a few drinks and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms although basic pub/motel type accommodation were clean and comfy with great views over the gardens. Would stay again! Heard its well worth a visit on St Paddys day too!

It may not be on the beach, but it was a lovely place. It was an old homestead of an Irish family and has been turned into a B&B. The grounds are fabulous, the rooms clean and we had a great breakfast. It also has a bar and restaurant. I would recommend it if you don't mind not being on the coast, its about five miles inland.
