Brilliant accommodation, friendly hosts, lovely clean apartment with everything you would ever need. Often 'serviced' means nothing, but in this case they were actually serviced every day.

Thank you Kathryn and Tony - you have put heaps back into the motel and offer very comfortable and modern accomdation. Your motel was a great place to stay during the graduation week. The units are well equipped and offer a high level of accomdation. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed your hospatility.

We stayed just 1 night on our way round the Islands. We had a 1st floor studio room. There is no dedicated parking, but it was quiet when we stayed & we parked near the bottom of the stairs so we didn't have to carry our bags far. Kathryn greeted us - very friendly, chatty & full of information. She gave us a small carton of milk, cookies, & mini choc bars, and showed us to our room where she explained how the heater worked. However, the weather was good & we didn't need to use it.

The main room was large - probably the largest of all the 18 motels we stayed in during our trip! It had a double & a single bed, 2 reclining arm chairs with leg rests & a good TV. It was decorated very neutrally - bedspreads, carpet, curtains, walls. We counted 5 x double electric sockets throughout the room, & there were ceiling & wall spotlights in the main area.

The beds had clean, ironed, fresh sheets & a blanket on them.

The kitchen area was well supplied. The only negative: the hinges on the fridge are on the right, so the door opens out towards you - no big problem.

Bathroom - large! More than enough towels, a large shower with what seemed to be a new glass door. The WC also seemed to be relatively new. There was sufficient vanity space on each side of the basin, & there was a cupboard & 3 drawers under the basin. The shower was very powerful, but it was easy to adjust temperature & pressure. The wash basin was plumbed the wrong way round - cold is to the left, & hot to the right - this gave a bit of a scalding shock. There is a hairdryer.

The room faced west, looking over either a school or uni grounds, but there was no noise from there. The unit was towards the rear of the motel, far from the main road & we could hear traffic when the door was open, but nothing with it closed.

BP garage about 50m away, supermarkets nearby. Took about 5 minutes to drive into the town centre, & that was through an extensive set of traffic light controlled road works.

My husband and I spent 1 night here whilst travelling through NZ. It is a very spacious and clean motel with ample parking space. The reception staff were very helpful in letting us know what restaurants there were in the area. We had a car which meant it only took us 5minutes to get to the town centre. I imagine that if you didn't have a car, it would probably be about a 25 minute walk.
