I spent five nights at this hotel and it was perfect! It's right on the beach -- the only beach on Maafushi Island, where you can wear a bikini! The breakfast was buffet-style and also included local food, which was nice. The staff are super nice and friendly, and we had loads of fun with the guys that accompanied us on snorkeling trips. The manager is really nice and you can bargain a good price for the trips with him. He even gave us a present (a souvenir) when we were leaving! This hotel is definitely a better and cheaper choice than the resorts -- especially if you want to experience the local life in the Maldives.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend and we loved it! The hotel has it's own private beach (so ladies can wear bikinis!) Also, rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. The staff are very helpful and will arrange excursions for you (trips to neighbouring islands/snorkelling/fishing etc) It is worth visiting neighbouring islands if you want to see 'perfect' beaches with soft white sand and crystal clear water. Having said that, we loved Maafushi because you get a taste of true Maldivian life. There are lots of places to eat at cheap prices and the island loves candle lit alfresco dining! Thank you Whiteshell for a great time in the Maldives!!

We recently stayed three nights at WhiteShell and had a very memorable time. We had an initial hiccup with a broken ferry in Male which kept us from reaching Maafushi on the day we were supposed to and when we called the hotel, the number was not ringing. It turned out the person in possession of that number was on some sort of vacation considering it was the end of Ramadan. The staff were very helpful and attentive once we got to the island. They always remembered to ask me about tea They kept tabs on my tea consumption and made sure I didn't go without. :)

We spent a few days here and had a great time. Our room was just in fron of the beachand ws simple but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served on the beach or in the small restaurant. Dinners were simple but quite good. One day we expressed a wish for a crab and the next day we had a wonderful live crab shown to us, which was delicious. The sand is a bit rough at the waterfront, lots of stones, but it's OK once you get in the water. Good wifi, lounge chairs, hammock. They also help organize activities and excursions. And staff is very helpful all around, whatever your needs.

Stayed in the first hotel ever built in Maafushi island, from 26 to 29 June 2014, given the room 302.Choosed this hotel because of its outstanding reviews, and we're not disappointed.
Booked from Agoda , and emailed the hotel directly for details and speedboat transfer , because after Maafushi , we stayed in some other resort in different island.
Our room was nice, clean ,and well decorated. Our daughter's extra bed was big enough for 2 people.AC was superbly cool, hot and cold shower was perfectly working.
Complete with wardrobe, hanger , safe deposit box, small fridge and a flat screen TV with Sony Six Cable TV !We watched a lot of Cartoon Network and Brazil 2014 Football match !
Free 3 ,600 ml bottled water provided each day. They arrange excursions to another resort ,dolphin watching ,snorkeling ,Picnic Island excursion , Sand Bank , with affordable prices. The more people would go, the cheaper the price would be ,so ask other people to join.Free Wifi can be accessed from the room ,restaurant ,or front desk.
The restaurant was delicious ,affordable priced and serving time was acceptable. They served delicious breakfast daily ,eggs, toasts ,cereals, fruit juices, coffee/tea,sausages.
We would like to thank all the staffs, from front desk ,restaurant manager(Srilankan guy) ,speed boat driver for their service ,friendliness, and attention throughout our stay.
Maafushi island is a local island ,but on beach right beside the hotel , bikini is acceptable. There's another nice beach just behind the white shell beach wall barrier, you must go around from the back of the hotel , then turn left, because you cannot access that beach from front of White Shell, too many rocks.
If we ever visit Maafushi again ,we would definitely stay again at White Shell Beach Inn..

Room tip: Rooms 301,302 and 303 are the nicest
