“Horrible.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Grubby and grotty foyer with very rude staff at reception. The cot that was requested was put into another room and we were expected to get it and bring it up two flights of stairs. The only clean thing about the room was the sheets. Very very noisy. Don't expect to get any sleep. We stayed on a Saturday night and the sounds of drunken fighting and sirens were constant. The homeless person who sat outside the door for 24 hours straight and didn't even bother getting up to go to the toliet should have served as a warning for us. Will never stay there again.

Room Tip: Don't even bother.

“Too small, too noisy, too hard!”

You can't complain at the price....but you pay for it everywhere else. The apartments, although very small are neat n tidy, but the noise associated with the comings 'n' goings, especially on a Saturday night are truly unbearable :(

We must have been woken at least 3-4 times by inconsiderate adjoining guests. So in summary, if a restful nights sleep is important to you stay elsewhere!

“Basic hotel, good location.”

Pretty basic hotel, and only good if you get a room that is at the back facing the carpark otherwise I doubt you will be able to sleep at night. My partner and I were there for a Friday night (the night before out 5am wakeup for the plane home) and the music from the clubs and bars kept us up for hours. I can't even imagine the noise if our room was situated at the front of the hotel.
Other than that the location is great, right in the heart of St. Kilda and infront of the tram that takes you to the city. Rooms are basic, and there are also no lifts which is a bit difficult for people with a lot of luggage.
Staff are friendly and helpful except one younger girl at reception who isn't very nice at all and it's quite rude.
Overall good budget motel if you get the right room.

“Simple, clean, centrally located for budget conscious!”

Booked room after reading reviews and thought of canceling as single parent with 2 teenage daughters. Felt safe whole time, staff friendly, walked to and from Palais theatre close to midnight with no dramas. Fitzroy st was busy but slept like a baby. Not flash but beds comfy. Had room out back and no lift but only had carry on bags and stayed 1 night in family room.
