“Excellent-Cannot Find Fault”

From my understanding, the current managers haven't been at this park for long but they know how to impress; they are so nice. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the staff. They extended a hand when I needed help. The service in the cafe was fantastic. They went out of their way to cook fresh burgers for us instead of giving us one from the bay marie. As for the facilities; the pool is nice and relaxing. The accommodation is the best I've stayed in for a long time (better than motels IMO). The cabin was very clean and modern (a home away from home). The park is quiet - was able to sleep in everyday. You get a lot for your money (rates are low). It's by the river so we enjoyed river walks to Highton (can also walk to Belmont). We plan on staying here at least once a month and during many of the school holidays. I highly recommend this park. 5 stars for everything.

Room Tip: The family cabin is great. The deluxe cabin is a little bigger with an extra couch. The deluxe spa c...

“Gorgeous Spa Units”

I was very impressed with the spa cabin that I stayed in, it was very reasonably priced and much nicer and more modern that nearly all of the hotels I have stayed in for business whilst I am in Geelong. The spa bath in the bathroom was fantastic, it took awhile to fill up but it was well worth the wait. All furniture and amenities were modern and clean - from flat screen tvs, couches, kettles, microwave, fridge and pots/pans.

I seriously could not find one fault with the place. The location is fantastic, just a short drive to the Belmont shops, Kardinia Park & the CBD. The service was also very friendly, with the owner even waiting past reception closing time to let me in!

On all future stays in Geelong, I will be returning to the Riverview Tourist Park!

Room Tip: Stay in a spa unit for a bit of added luxury!

“Standard facilities with terrible service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

We stayed here for a week and were frequently made to feel like we were a nuisance to staff. Any request of management was too much, even directions seemed to be too much trouble. We had a mishap with our cabin key (our fault entirely) but rather than being helpful staff were unbelievably rude to the point of offensive. We understand it was annoying but the way it was handled by staff left us reeling and upset. Given the facilites are average but not fantastic we will not be staying there again.

“great cabin in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2011

We stayed at Belmont, south of the river at Geelong, for 3 nights while we were touring Geelong & the Bellarine Peninsula. The tourist park is in a great location, handy to the city of Geelong, Surfcoast Highway & its beaches, Bellarine Peninsula, Princes Highway & Great Ocean Road, etc. It is also very close to shopping centre at Belmont, supermarkets, banks, eateries, etc. The park is located near the Barwon River, an attractive area.
We had a 2 bedroom spa cabin which was really nice & very comfortable indeed. There was a large front verandah with table & chairs and a concrete bay alongside cabin to park our car. All roads within the park were sealed.
The bathroom had a shower over a spa bath & there was a separate toilet.
In the lounge room we had 2 sofas, 1 tub chair & a big LCD TV. Our only complaint (common to almost all our accommodation, except 1 motel, during this trip) was that the TV was not tuned to digital stations. We know that takes only minutes at most, so why not do it if you are going to supply new LCD tvs?
Our bedroom was comfy, had a small tv also. Cupboard/storage space throughout the cabin was excellent. One thing we particularly liked was the double layer roller blinds throughout the cabin. Using just 1 gave us relief from late afternoon glare, as well as privacy. At night we pulled down the 2nd blockout blind.
We used the laundry which was well set up. Staff service was good too.
We highly recommend it & would stay again!

“In fairness it has improved”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2011

Just a quick review. I wrote a less than favourable review about this place this time last year, and Im pleased to say that whilst they wont win any customer service of the year awards this place appears to have improved in the area of how guests are treated. Stayed in the newer deluxe cabins this time round and they are much nicer, larger, however they are a little on the dirty side already, ie carpets stained, walls marked. It is great to be able to sit on the large decks out the front and just watch all the kids ride their scooters and bikes, whilst you relax and enjoy a glass of wine. Pool hasnt gotten any bigger, however this time we were spoken to nicely about tyring to keep splashing to a minimum and the park was generally very neat and clean. Compared with the other parks around the Geelong/Great Ocean Road/Bellarine this place is a bargain thats why we returned. Stayed at the Bellarine Big 4 in October and while this place is in a league of its own it was twice the price over the Xmas period, when all you really want is a place to sleep, pool and play area for the kids, centrally located to the region it is hard to go past.
