“Short walk from town?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We chose this motel as it was reasonably priced and boasted a short walk to city centre. The room was small, comfortable, clean and adequately accommodated my husband and I. The bathroom offered pump action soap, shampoo, conditioner dispensers on the wall - unfortunately the soap was empty in the shower! The short walk was actually a 20 min haul (this comes from two people who actively walk regularly). There was a great reasonably priced motel restaurant across the road which we would recommend. Thank you for or stay.

“Two bed room? Hmmm, not quite.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

We booked a two bed 'family room' for my partner and my parents thinking we'd save some money and be together rather than in separate units. Unfortunately the layout of the room was not at all ideal for four adults - the double bed was in the main room with the bathroom and in the second room was two singles, a bedside table and nothing else! So it made things rather awkward using the bathroom when the others were sleeping, taking showers etc etc. There was no lounge as such but rather a table and four chairs and the entrance and a two person couch near the main bed. I'm sure this would be fine for a family with young children but not for us, and the website did not really make this clear - we'd have booked separate rooms closer into Bendigo if we knew.

The place itself was okay. It was clean and basic and as other reviewers have mentioned quite far out from Bendigo itself. We didn't feel for the money we paid that we got value for money. Will try somewhere else next time.

“Geographical Challange”

Stayed overnight on a business trip. Normally like to stay in the CBD area when travelling, to avoid using the car to mover around at night. So the location was a bit of a shock. Took a bit of finding, but that might have been the GPS throwing a wobbly as well.
Good clean room, maybe a bit bigger than the average box in a box country motel. Yook awhile to get the A/C to obey my commands,
If you stay get reception to direct you to The Bendigo Club which is behind the motel is what looks like a residential street/ Had a very pleasant evening there.
The only thing hampering me staying there again would be the location from the CBD

“Good for an overnight stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

Good for an overnight stay. The rooms were fairly standard with tea and coffee facilities. The location was fine for us but it's still a bit out of town if you are visiting Bendigo itself.

There are no restaurants within in walking distance.

“Excellent value package in a clean room - a little out of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2010

The check in was prompt and friendly - I arrived quite late in the evening after a drive from Melbourne airport. The room was clean and large - looked recently renovated - maybe a little sparse but comfortable. I had booked a $99 special so got a spa room and a free breakfast. Good TV with many channels, but some had a funny sound... Well equipped room with tea/coffee and cookies plus a toaster. The breakfast was delivered on time and was delicious. Note that their pool is very small. Check out was friendly - bring your Visa card as there is a huge 3% surcharge on AMEX. It is a little out of town, but if you have a car, you won't mind - there is a Coles supermarket very close too that was open late. Ask for a room at the back of the property so you aren't on the main road. For the price, this was a great stay.
