Have stayed here a couple of times now on business. Love the rooms that face out the front onto Lydiard St. Some have lovely fireplaces.

Very handy location if you want to walk to dinner or shops in the main street of Ballarat.

Secure parking at rear of building - there is always a spot free.

Room service breakfast got my order right (surprisingly not many hotels do - all I ask for differently is OJ instead of Milk, so not a difficult request)

I will be back!

Stayed here for a night in July 2011 & the room was excellent. The restaurant staff were brilliant & the food was tops. Nearly died when I got he bill but it was worth it.

We have just spent a lovely weekend away in Ballarat staying at the Heritage Quality Inn on Lydiard. Great location on historic Lydiard Street. My first impression was what a small entrance it had. I was expecting something grand, although it was beautifully presented with a gorgeous chandelier. Reception staff were friendly. The walk from reception to our room involved going from indoors to out in the freezing cold then back indoors. It would be much nicer to have a closed in walkway out of the weather. Also walking past the kitchen was sometimes a little smelly. The rooms were beautiful. We had 2 rooms interconnected (due to their family suite being booked) the hotel gave these 2 rooms to us at the same price of a family suite which was great. The rooms were perfect. We had 3 adults and 2 children so there was plenty of sleeping room as both rooms had queen sized beds and one room had a fold out leather sofa. We had standard rooms but they were beautiful. Gorgeous quality furniture and lovely mirror and curtains. Each room had it's own writing desk and heating. The bathrooms were small but clean and modern with quality fittings. The rooms were clean although I have to say my sons white socks were very dirty after walking around the room. So the carpets would benefit from a clean (although they didn't look dirty). The beds were very comfy and warm. As our room was above the carpark, the cars coming and going late in the night was a little loud. Although it was nothing compared to the noise of a nightclub near by. It didn't bother me as I was already asleep by the time the music started but my hubby was awake later and said the noise was very loud til around 3am! It was a real shame because it is such a lovely hotel. If your a heavy sleeper like myself it won't bother you. Free wifi which was an added bonus. The wine bar is very sophisticated. We had coffee there before going out to dinner. The atmosphere was nice lots of candles and the staff were great! Over all a beautiful hotel in great central location. Would stay again :)

We were on honeymoon and we wanted to stay a night at Ballarat. We arrived at 630pm and the counter girl was very friendly and helpful. She and the Manager (I supposed) checked us in quickly and gave us a good rate for a night. They were also helpful about the carpark.

Lovely room. So clean and contemporary. The blankets (new quality - not the same as the other hotels) were great as they kept us warm and yet they were not too heavy till we can't turn around.

Simply love the free internet access in the rooms. Love it. The toilets were great.

The only grouse was that there was a sewage smell when we first took over the room. It was there the whole night but was gone the next morning. We stayed in room 9.

There was a leather sofa in the room too. Nice for a time of drinking tea.

Overall pleasant stay and we would love to go back again.
