Ok it was September but it was so cold in Ballarat and it wasn't just the weather that took me by surprise. Its a lovely town / city that has real and visible heritage. Sovereign Park is a motel a little out of town but close to everything. I guess you need a car but i don't think you would stay there without one!

Its modern, clean and my room (45) was big with a separate toilet and large bathroom with a huge bath and shower. Parking right outside

Everything was very pleasant and even the heating worked well

They have a pub type restaurant and the food is just OK. Large portions compensate for average quality. Had both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both. There is a simple breakfast of toast and cereal etc in the fridge in the room

Good value and Ok for families i guess because there was a spare bed in room

I think there could be more interesting places in Ballarat that reflect the history of the place better but this is a good choice

The sovereign park is the best motel I have ever stayed in the staff as soon as you arrive are so welcoming the are excellent and spacious clean and comfortable meals in hotel are excellent and value for money all staff are friendly highly recommend in staying here

There were 4 adults who stayed in a very comfortable family room. We had a very pleasant 3-day stay. This hotel is near to Sovereign Hill and the centre of Ballarat. The room was clean and quiet with a continental breakfast included in the price. On site, the Red Lion Restaruant offered very good food at competitive rates. You could even charge meals to your room, which was very convenient. The staff were friendly and the internet was great --- $5/24hrs. That's $5 for 24 hours of internet time, if you log off, it stops counting and you can restart later. There's even a free laundry and drying facility for guests to use, including free detergent. That was fantastic! They also have a free games room and fitness centre including an indoor heated pool. The only negative is the parking situation. It is free and there are plenty of spots but to get to them there is a very tight choke point. Getting out is a little tricky too if there are any cars parked in front of the Red Lion, making it very difficult to see oncoming traffic. Other than that, the Sovereign Park Motor Inn was fantastic and we would stay there again.

The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly
We stayed in a family room which had a queen bed and a single bed and was very well laid out. For longer stays they also have 2 bedroom apartments.
For a motel the rooms were modern and the beds were very comfortable
The boys loved the indoor heated pool and spa area, great after a long day at sovereign hill.
The onsite Red Lion Cafe had fantastic food and an undercover playground which is a godsend when dining with a 4yo. You can also have any of the meals there sent as room service for only $3 for the whole order more which I think is fantastic when travelling with small tired children.
They included 3 free new release movie channels which my son enjoyed watching Where the Wild Things are on
Also they include a free continental breakfast of cereal, toast and juice
Was almost disappointed we were only there for the night, could have easily stayed on.
