As the Co-ordinator of a Group of 42 persons, I was somewhat concerned when reading some negative reports on Trip Advisor --- to the extent that I emailed the Motel with my concerns.
Melissa at the Commodore Regent ensured that we had beautiful, re-furbrished rooms (towards the rear of the premises, but uphill for those with mobility problems).
We could not fault these lovely rooms. Maybe those posting negative comments did so before the re-furbrishment?? All mod cons that one would expect from a 4-star establishment were present (even though it is rated 3.5 stars), and everything appeared to be clean.
Location is wonderful, being opposite City Park, and only 2 to 3 blocks' walk from the city centre.
We enjoyed a very nice 2-course Group dinner ($25 p.p.), -- alternate drop of 2 choices.
Some thought that the main course portions could have been greater, however.
I can thoroughly recommend the Commodore Regent to any Group organiser, (provided you are conscious of its 3.5 star rating)
