Tarting up the room with contemporary bedclothes did not detract from the remnants of the last occupant's poop in the toilet. I've stayed in some pretty shabby places right throughout the world, but they *have* all managed a clean toilet. Water glasses were also grubby. On the upside the location is pretty good and the park opposite is lovely.

This hotel was a disappointment following a wonderful week in Cradle Mountain. It was our last night in Tasmania and this hotel did not come up to what we had seen on the internet. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and informative unfortunately our room was a big disappointment. It was in need of redecoration, new carpet and the bathroom was a disgrace. The toilet cistern was filthy with ingrained dirt . Paint was peeling off the wall and the shower should have been condemned.

Breakfast was included but there was nobody in the dining room to show us what was available. The breakfast looked like it had been left out overnight.

We had a very pleasant night stay at Commodore Regent. Our room was spacious and clean. The receptionist was very friendly and check-in was a breeze. Our concerns after reading the negative reviews were quickly forgotten as soon as we checked-in. Our unit was located on the ground floor, thus parking was just outside our unit, which was just wonderful.

Moderate hotel opposite a beautiful park. Rooms were ok, but they were conducting renovations to some rooms. About a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Staff were very helpful.
