Our stay here lasted two hours as we checked into a local hotel rather than stay at this property. The only contact with the proprietors was through a telephone on the front wall of the apartments. In speaking with them we neither expected, nor received, the return of the 300 Australian Dollar deposit we had paid to secure one week's stay during our seven week tour of Australia. We had stopped in Travelodge, Comfort and Quality Inns, each booked from the UK through the internet, and the Frogmore Apartment was a disappointment compared with all of them. It was poorly cleaned - crumbs still on the worn sofa in the lounge. One of the curtains was missing a runner and hanging down. The bed linen comprised sheets that did not match and neither did the crockery in the kitchen. The shower was badly stained and there were no views to relieve the general run-down atmosphere. We couldn't find a dryer, only an outdoor clothes line. On the positive side, it is close to the beach, and the entrance and some apartments do overlook green space as advertised on the Frogmore's web-site. Ours did not. Maybe we were unlucky in that a notice on the wall clearly stated that each occupant was responsible for cleaning the apartment before they left. We were expected to pay cash (115 Aus dollars a night) as credit cards were not accepted (even though the deposit had been paid by credit card over the telephone) and this proved to be the final straw as the nearest ATM was out of use. We found a beautiful hotel in Henley Beach, half a mile away, directly overlooking the beach. The aprtment might be fine for families seeking utilitarian accomodation, but for a couple with modest expectations of comfort and cleanliness, Frogmore was an unacceptable disappointment.

Found this on the net last minute and got the shock of my life. Was a great well kept apartment updated from an older set of flats, but what a credit to John and Natasha. Could not have been simpler to check in and depart and all the necessary items that go with your typical apartment (ie. linen, crockery, cutlery, etc) were there. So all-in-all, well done and at $120 per night high season and 5 minutes to West Beach for swimming, what a deal. The room we had had 2 rooms (double bed in one, double and single in the other) but it has heaps more room. PS it also has an inground pool out the back to die for!!
