Unfriendly welcome on check in set the standard for the very short duration of our 3.5 hour stay. The family room was found to have no heating nor any hot water. I get it, that things break down, but it's not accepteable when your supposed hosts offer no apology or even come down to your room to try and get things working, because their too busy with a function in their event centre. Then we're made to feel responsible somehow because the management now have to outlay money to repair the said items, although you've paid for a room upfront is a bit too much to bear. They had no other suitable rooms and concede they did source us a family room at the budget motel next door for us, as in their words, 'all they are required to do is find alternative accomodation at the same rating', but don't mention it was also at a much cheaper price, with no mention or offer to refund the difference. To sum it all up it was probably the worst service I have ever received.

While the people in the motel were friendly enough, the cleanliness was akin to that of a University dorm. Old scourers were left in the shower cubicle, bins still had rubbish in them from the last guest, and the room was not touched for the duration of our stay. The sign on the door that says "Please make up my room" must have "only if you feel like it" written in fine print underneath.

Part of the deal was that we had breakfast each day, which was fine. "Leave the tray outside and we'll collect it later in the day." 48 hours later the tray was still there. Complete with flies and mould.

What's absolutely hilarious though was that they did enter the room to put in a new toaster - guess they must have selective vision.
