We stayed in one of the family rooms while in Toowoomba for a professional conference. In the industry we are in, all four of us spend a lot of time in motels. This one was by far the worst I've ever seen. There were dead spiders and insects everywhere, the room had obviously not been cleaned in a very long time. The hot water did not work, and when we complained, we were told that the landlord knew there was a problem, so it wasn't the managements fault. All well and good, but we still didn't have hot water. Next, the room was cleaned, and assumedly the towels were collected as if to be cleaned, then forgotten. We came in late that night to find the towels (which had been hung up to show they didn't need replacing) piled in the middle of the bathroom floor, wet, and a dirty cleaning rag left on the pillow of one of the beds. Again we complained, and the reception staff rolled her eyes and told us that it was one cleaners fault. She organized to replace the 4 towels that had been misplaced and told us that we shouldn't be so upset as it was just a rag. When we finally checked out of this hell hole, we were charged an extra $25 for needing our towels replaced. Toowoomba motel and events centre will never again get any of my money and I suggest you fond somewhere else to stay. Colleagues stayed at the Blue Violet Motel, maybe try them first.
