“HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!”

It's about 10mins from the highway but well worth the short drive into the beach! The staff are lovely and accommodating. They had us booked into an upstairs apartment but promptly shifted us downstairs when they saw we had small children. 3 year old and 1 year old. The room had everything we needed plus more - fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, courtyard with outdoor table and chairs, separate bedroom, lounge room with couches and TV - but the best thing was a washing machine and dryer!!! The apartment was modern and clean with lovely white sheets and towels. We had a porta cot for the our baby and our 3 year old slept on the small couch in the lounge room. This suited us fine, but maybe if you had older children you'd need the roll out bed which would cost an extra $15. The restaurant meals were absolutely beautiful and we sat beside a huge fenced off playground where the kids had a ball while we ate our dinner. In the morning we enjoyed the continental breakfast that was included in the cost of the room. toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt and juice. Followed by an early morning walk along the beach before getting in the car for another long day driving. We recommend this place to anyone traveling with children or babies! Best $100 (incl breakfast!) I've ever spent on a hotel for a family of 4!!!
Should mention - The ONLY downside was we got ready to dive in the pool, but it was full of dead flies??? covered in them? Maybe needed a good clean? We did not go swimming which was a shame, but this is the only down side of our stay.

“Nice, Quiet, Close to the water with a pub next door.”

I stayed here for 2 nights while I was in Mackay for work. I usually stay in Mackay but decided to stay here for a change, it only 10mins out of the city. The rooms are comfortable self contained units. The furnishings were a little tacky but once again comfortable. The pub the is attached to the Seabreeze makes the accommodation worth while. The Point bar and grill do great meals, they are overpriced for a pub but are of a reasonable price. The Point bar and grill is also where breakfast is served. My only negative being a person who like to watch tv before bed was my tv was the size of a laptop screen. Apart from that it is a nice place to spend a few quiet nights on the water.

“Quiet beachside location overnight stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2009

Chose this place for overnight stay because of quiet beachside location only 10 minutes drive from Mackay city. No city or highway noise. Adequate continental breakfast included in tariff. Disappointed there were no security/fly screens on any windows or doors. Otherwise comfortable stay.

“What has gone wrong with this hotel !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2008

We have been to this hotel a few times (This was later used as an excuse). On this occasion we decided the go Fishing and a little shopping around Mackay, so we arrived later than we normally would (7.10 pm). My wife asked to book a table and the Owner stated "No need plenty of room". we went back to shower and change there was three off us and we got down to the restaurant around 8:25pm, to be told that the place was shut, when we pointed out that why did he not say or even give a tip to hurry up when we asked about the booking of the table he said "well you been here enough times !" then telling my wife she was "Stupid !" in front of all the diners. So needless to say we will not be staying there again and if anyone reads this and does stay, make sure that the first thing you do is read all the instructions in the In Room book so you don’t get called Stupid.

“Seabreeze in the middle of nowhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2008

We had a strict criteria for selecting a hotel in Mackay as we were travelling with our 14 month old. It had to have a separate bedroom for day time sleeps and a microwave to heat up food. We didn't want to be too far from Mackay CBD and yet we didn't want to stay on the Hwy.

The entrance hall to our room at the Seabreeze was so dark that we put the cot there for our sons sleeps. Just as well as the bedroom was soo small I don't think the cot would have fit. The room was clean overall, though the previous tenant hadn't cleaned the microwave when there food exploded all over it.

You will need a car if you stay at the Seabreeze. The Seabreeze is at Lamberts Beach and besides houses is the only thing at Lamberts Beach. Just when you feel you have got to the end you keep driving and there is the Seabreeze. Our accommodation included continental breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, coffee & tea) in the bistro.

It is about a 10 minute drive into Mackay and the Marina.
