I have stayed here many times over many years, the rooms are old and tired and the refurb has only slightly improved them. The position is great, the service is great, the food is great. The rates are dear compared to other towns but pretty good for Mackay

An older (and somewhat tired) hotel which has been grand in a former life. It was very comfortable and a huge room with two queen sized beds and a balcony overlooking the ocean.
The staff were all very friendly and efficient.
Don't be tricked by the misleading information in the compendium which states free laundry. We didn't realise (and were not told by the front desk or housekeeping staff) at the time of handing over our laundry that it was being sent to the dry cleaners!!!! What a shock on checkout to get the bill for that. Had we been told about the laundry in the hotel it would have been an entirely different matter.
A new executive chef and WOW.... fantastic meals in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Can be noisy in the restaurant with background music and other patrons when busy.
A lovely quiet location away from the madness of Mackay streets - except for the crows in the early mornings.
Would stay here again pretty good value for money.

very poor for the price. people were nice enough but no one listened.we asked for a room away from wedding guests we were put right along side the youg ones and as predicted there was a fight.breakfast was included i rang to ask if we were able to have any thing in the menue.and was told any thing with in reason when i asked the youg lady to explain reason she said well you would not order 10 breakfasts.what can you say.these were $195 rooms. on top of us we had a tiller tapping all of friday and again saturday. very poor very poor and so dissapointing. still waiting to hear from the manager. marian

Room was spacious and clean. Great views! Reasonable price for what you get compared to other Hotels in area. Didn't eat in Restaurant as was Visiting Family & Friends so can't comment there. Pool area looked nice. Free Parking.
