I stayed at the Paradise Lodge Motel, It was really convenient as I could walk anywhere, I lost my wallet and when I arrived in Mackay the owner was kind enough to come and collect me from the airport, they had a full laundry to do my washing while I was there and I was in a newly renovated room, Everything in Mackay is overpriced due to the mines and this motel was at the bottom of the price scale and the service was excellent. I will defiantly choose them again for my return trip

I stayed at this motel for a week on a work trip. It was a 10 minute walk from the city centre, which was convenient enough for me. It was overpriced.
The motel is run-down and needs updating. There was a microwave, but it hadn't been cleaned and there was no cutlery/plates provided. I asked for a toaster to be provided when booking- it wasn't. No hair-dryer, iron/ironing board. The mini-fridge was noisy, which had to be turned off to sleep. I was never asked by staff if they could help me with anything, nor was I asked if I'd enjoyed my stay.
I feel that the motel staff have become complacent because of the demand in the area and lack of competition. I won't be staying here again.
