“Nice clean modern room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

We stayed in a family room with a queen bed & 2 singles which had the bathroom in between for privacy. Nice clean modern accommodation which was reasonable because we shared with friends. Had trouble getting accom in Mackay as a lot of places are booked out because of the miners so make sure you book in advance for your stay.

Room Tip: Family room was great with queen bed & 2 singles with bathroom in between.

“Good experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

I stayed in a Queen room with two additional singles which would be very well suited to a family with children. The room is half divided by the bathroom but not cut off from each other. Each 'room' has its own TV and so would allow mum and dad to watch telly sepperate from the kids when you want to lie back and relay in the evening. There is a restuarant at the motel which serves steak and pasta type meals and has a small bar. The food is good and price is fair. A pool is also available.
I found this to be a very pleasant experience and would stay there again.

“Adequate stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2011

I stayed here in a twin self contained room for $140 (special) with my husband and 2 young children on our way south. The location was good, easy to find off the highway. Our room was good - motel style with kitchenette - and well presented. The bathroom was clean although it could do with an update. I did not particularly like the pool location, in front of the restaurant/bar area, and steps into the pool were the only shallow area for small kids. Some of the pool tiling was also a little sharp in places. Overall it was a fairly good stopover point but I'm not sure I would classify it as a "resort".

“Nice, but a bit pricey.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

Stayed at the Mackay Resort Motel on our way north recently. No booking, just strolled in.
Reception was courteous and helpful. The rooms were nice with the queen bed and the single beds separated by the bathroom. The kids had their own TV. Overall cleanliness was up to standard and the decor and bedding was of a good quality. Wireless broadband was an extra cost. The thing I supposed that bugged me was the price. We've stayed at plenty of places like this for around $40 a night less and as a family on a budget, we would soon be out of money if we paid these prices every night. Like the title says,"nice, but a bit pricey" to me sums it up.

“Two Thumbs Up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

Staying in Mackay I always look for affordability and comfortable rooms. This was the first time I stayed at the Mackay Resort Motel and I have to say I was really impressed. The staff were excellent and the rooms spacious and modern. Two thumbs up for the new furniture and bedding. Highly recommended.
