Gladstone is the launching point to get to Heron Island. We didn't spend too much time there. The motel was comfortable and the price was fair. The location was convenient to the airport and the Ferry. I would stay again.

stayed for business - it was very average don't think it would be 4 star.

Considering this is a fairly old Hotel and a bit dated we found it to be lovely and clean with spacious rooms and very friendly and helpful staff.
Our party of 4 adults booked and stayed 2 nights in Marina View 1 bedroom apartments, both on the 5th floor @ $155.00 per night which seemed a little bit expensive for the age of the place but after staying there we didnt mind.
The rooms were well airconditioned with a small equipped kitchen, mini bar, 4 seater dining table, and lounge area with large flat screened T.V. This area opened onto a large balcony with table and chairs and views out over the marina and ocean. The adjoining bedroom had a large queen size comfortable bed, and was quite roomy with plenty of space for luggage and a mirrored wardrobe. The bathroom was small but clean with a washing machine and cloths dryer which was handy.
We had one dinner in the Hotel restaurant but the meals weren't anything to rave about so I would suggest trying somewhere else for dinner.
The rooms were serviced every day and the reception staff were lovely and very helpful with any questions we had.
The pool area was nice and the pool crystal clear, although the water was a bit cold, but in the January heat quite refreshing.
If ever we were in Gladstone again we would definitely stay there as the location was handy to the CBD, the rooms were large,clean and comfortable, and the staff lovely.

I stayed here for a few days with my wife and 2 kids. The manager Kerry was exceptionally friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home and welcome. We stayed in a very spacious 2 bed/ 2 bathroom apartment on the 6th floor with glorious views of the harbour and surrounds and all the massive industrial plants with their greenhouse gases pouring into the atmosphere nearby. The unit was rather dated and quite dirty and the glass balconies looked like they hadn't been cleaned for years or it could have been the atmospheric corrosion perhaps. However, it was passable and despite that we enjoyed our stay. A couple of words of advice.. don't eat in the cafe if you're looking for nice food and beware of the nearby streets, there were numerous drug crazed lunatics nearby displaying aggressive behaviour to passers by. 3 stars.
