Great respite from the long trip from southeast Queensland to other end of NSW. This boutique hotel lived up to its great reputation. Room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Quiet location, excellent bathroom. Staff were friendly. I ordered room service which came from the inhouse restaurant downstairs and was very good, even if a little pricey (I would have given the pasta dish I ordered a five star rating if the spaghetti had been cooked al dente rather than overcooked... But it was still a good meal). I want to stay here again soon.

We stayed in a one bedroom, oceanview spa apartment for four nights.

The good stuff:
- the room was very spacious and well appointed. A very comfortable place to kick back after a day out and about.
- a lovely view from an enormous balcony.
- great location, a very short walk into the centre of Port Macquarie and to the water.
- excellent customer service, we had a problem with the DVD player in our room and the receptionist came up immediately and worked on it until we figured out what the problem was
- the pool area is quite pleasant and the spa was relaxing (if somewhat volcanic)
- also loved the rooftop terrace, a great place to escape to the jacuzzi or a hammock
- also loved the free room service! Magnificent!

The minor quibbles:
- the iPod dock in our room didn't work properly.
- the spa bath in our room was a bit nasty. The only time that we went to use it, it spewed out a bit of rusty, brown water that was thick enough to stain the sides of the tub. It's fortunate that we didn't book the room specifically because it had a spa bath, otherwise this would have been quite disappointing!

Overall, a very pleasant stay with a few very minor rough edges. I'd thoroughly recommend staying at Macquarie Waters!

we stayed in the hotel from the 9th of Jan 2012 to the 14th of Jan 2012 . family of 4 we occupied a very large 2 bedroom apartment. it was very suitable for us ,kitchen was very stylish,it had everything you need of cookware....very clean rooms........... and an amazing laundry facilities .
the staff were very friendly and an excellent customer service with a smile:):) .Our kids loved the pool (very clean pool),especially the movie nights.
overall it was very pleasant staying in that hotel and for sure we will visit it again very soon.

Fantastic staff are very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment very roomy and having two bathrooms was a bonus.
