Myself and my partner stayed here for the night on our drive up to the gold coast. It was our second stopover hotel. We stayed in a disaster of a place the first night so we werent in high hopes of the next being a good place to stay, but we were pleasantly surprised as this place ended up being great. The room was spacious with a balcony, no view really but that didnt bother us we just wanted a good nights sleep. We finally got it here. The bed was comfortable and it was a warm night so we slept with the balcony door open (even though the room did have Air Con). The bathroom was a decent size also. All in all, we would gladly stay here again!

After a brief drive around town looking for a hotel I saw the sign for the Aston which I thought was for the building where the sign was positioned. I then realized the hotel is off the main road on top of the hill. We were looking for a reasonable priced hotel as we didn' want to put up our camper for 1 night. After negotiating the price we located out room which appeared to be brand new. It was large with all you could want - Fridge, Large TV & DVD player, kitchen, desks, couch & chair, comfy bed and large bathroom plus free internet. Hotel is located within walking distance of CBD (1.3k) or a short drive. Staff were excellent a check in and all in all a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Will be back.

We stayed for one night on a roadtrip from Sydney to Brisbane on 31/03/2010. Arrived quite late in the evening without a reservation but got a really nice room for a reasonable rate.(My efforts at haggling over the price failed miserably!)
Our room was very spacious, nice big bed, very clean (including the bathroom), fully stocked mini-bar with really good prices and a super plasma tv on the wall.
When checking out we met Judy, one of the owners and she was a very friendly and helpful lady. She gave us some good tips on places to visit, such as the local Koala hospital. Well worth a visit!! (Thanks Judy)
The only mishap was quite a funny one - in the morning my boyfriend went to sit outside and the door locked behind him- unfortunately for him I was having a very long shower at the time :)
Overall it was a really good experience, a combination of very good accomodation and friendly owner.

very clean rooms. The best thing about Aston Hill is the property managers, they were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble, including driving us to a particular beach to save us walking. Lovely location, nice and quiet away from main road and easy walking distance to shops and water. fabulous place to visit
