We stopped at Port Macquarie as our 2nd stop from Brisbane to Sydney drive. When we called them up, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Booking over the phone was fuss-free. When we arrived, the room was set up for us - sofa bed for our kids properly laid out with pillows and blankets (as opposed to our experience with a big brand name hotel in Coffs Harbour).
The property looked like a housing neighborhood. We booked a "Corporate Lounge" unit. It had a bedroom with a comfortable double bed and living room where the sofa bed was set up. The layout was a little strange - for example, the TV right over the kitchen counter. It looked like they were trying to squeeze in as much facilities as they could. It was functional enough and came with free wifi. The biggest downside was the sofa bed, which you can feel the springs from the top of the mattress. We fixed that by putting the bed cover from the bedroom over it. The unit had a free secured basement garage parking.
The property was located about 5 minutes drive from the town center where the port is. The surrounding of the property was just a normal hosting neighborhood so nothing spectacular. It was fine with us since it was just a 1-night stopover.
