I have returned today from a 5 night stay at the Best Western Macquarie Barracks and I cannot understand why this motel has so few reviews.

The rooms were spacious and spotless clean, also very secure.

The restaurant served lovely breakfasts and evening meals and very generous portions.

The staff appeared very happy working together as a team, not one long face was evident.

The staff were most helpful and always had a smile for guests, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Although on a fairly busy road I was not disturbed by road traffic, very quiet in the rooms.

The motel is very handy to riverside restaurants, Port Macquarie CBD and all attractions.

The only criticisms I have is that perhaps bath mats could be provided for inside and outside the shower in the ensuite as I was afraid of slipping. The doorstop in the ensuite was directly in front of the toilet base and I stubbed my toe on it several times forgetting it was there.

A soft pillow would be appreciated to go on top of the firm one.

The above criticisms are meant to be positive input and are only minor and could be easily rectified.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Barracks and fully intend to return after Christmas.
