“Fantastic location for wine tasting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

My partner and I went for a romantic weekend away in the winter. It was fantastic and she was blown away by the location and the hotel.

I must confess we didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were busy doing some wine tasting. The hotel was everything you could need for a lovely weekend away.

I would not recommend to eat in the hotel restaurant. For being a "steak house" the steaks we ordered were not even cooked close to how we ordered them. There were too many people and too few staff to cope. It took about half an hour for our drinks to arrive and nearly an hour for our food which was VERY over priced. I have eaten and really fine restaurants in Sydney for less money and had a far more satisfying experience.

When I complained, all I got in response from Mecure was "we will take your comments into consideration"

“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed in the Hunter Valley with my husband for a few nights before Christmas. We had been to the hotel before just popping in for coffee and said that it was so lovely that we would have to return to stay. We had a lovely room with an outside area, which went onto a path towards the swimming pool (which is great to cool off in after being out all afternoon wine tasting). The hotel is in a great location - you can walk to a few vineyards & the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens direct from the hotel. We had breakfast & dinner in the hotel which were both lovely. The reception staff where very helpfull.

“Relaxing setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Very conviently located, like the room, especially the sunken bath tub. Unfortunately, the room does not provide bubble bath. Was initially apprehensive about the restaurant after reading many review, but the 3 course dinner turn out satisfactory. Was disappointed that the Breakfast was not given a 50 per cent for 2 pax. Bacon was very fatty and not cripsy enough. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
