For visiting Parkes or stopping overnight on the long drive between Victoria and Queensland, this Best Western motel was suitably comfy and well appointed. We had reserved 2 rooms because we are a family of 5, however upon arrival, our host offered us the available corner suite for $90 less. This is a 2 room suite that included 2 Queen Beds and 1 single and a sofa bed.
The room was quiet, even though the motel is located on the Newell Hwy and included aircon, however we didn't need to test it out.
We mistakenly didn't have breakfast, preferring to get going earlier rather than later, but the breakfast menu was as you'd expect, but also very reasonably priced.

We had booked 4 nights here on our trip to Parkes and checked out after 1 night. To be fair the reception was very welcoming, the free wifi was very convenient and the cleanliness of the rooms was good but thats where the compliments end. My room was next to the busy main road and the furnishings were really drab and miserable. The rooms need totally refreshing. The shower took ages to adjust to a temperature that I could stand under and the hot and cold bath taps were incorrectly labelled which is dangerous given the hot water temperature. We didnt try breakfast mainly because the rates seemed a rip off. Moved across the road to the comfort inn where the rooms are much better. Not what i would call a great hotel but much better rooms.

We stayed this on the (Australian) June Queens Birthday Long Weekend. The quality of the accomodation was excellent, and the bathroom was new. We bought our two (housetrained) dogs with us, as we could not leave them behind. The Hosts were very friendly, and nothing was too much of a problem.

I don't think there are any other pet-friendly hotels in Parkes, which is a shame, for 80% of NSW State citizens have Pets & most pets are house-trained and often look after the property better than some tenants!

I would not hesitate recommending this Hotel to others!

Beer was cold good hearty Australian meals
