The phone call to book should have been the ALERT! CATHY - rude, unintersted and a [--] to say the least. Pictures looked good and we thought why not lest splurge.

Rooms in picture are only the deluxe suite, it looks basic to say the leats but for basic rate it looked okay, but no and there is only one of them. It is surrounded by houses, noisy on a high way with no noise sheilding like other motels around. Not even face washers in bath rooms. Black linnen, a rude recpetionist in person who took phone calls one at ten minutes while serving us a manager who came out and interupted -pauline- while being servived you people need to learn people skills and customer service, so if it was a 2 star motel perfect, but for the price we paid expected better than shabby rooms at best, crap service, felt like I had been spat in the face why is this women a receptionsit!!! Restaurtant - food was no better than home cooking on a commercial scale. Dont advertise big things if you dont deliver, no curtesy check no water on table, didnt get my bread roll i paid for. Shirin - what a usless excuse, better off eating ina diner at least we might as well get some attention. We walked out after one night ans stayed the next 3 at Bushmans Motor Inn. Ian and Pauline shack it up or ship it out.

We phoned Comfort Inn Parkes and pre booked a room for Early September 2011.
Due to a change of travel plans we had to phone that same day and cancel our room,the PERSON (female) who answered the phone to my husband was very rude to say the least,he said we had to cancel she said sure and then HUNG up on my husband with no further conversation added,we were wanting to change the date around but she hung up and we didn't bother.
I emailed her straight back after the phone call and asked her to phone me regarding the rudeness of her response on the phone she NEVER returned the email.
We have now decided to by-pass Parkes all together and have booked a motel in Dubbo,the gentleman at taht motel was warm,friendly and very helpful.
The Parkes Comfort Inn could certainly take a leaf out of this gentlemans book 1 * rating for Parkes Motor Inn from us

This is a country motel with reasonable rooms but why don't they have face flannels? Checking in, it took a while to raise the receptionist who seemed to have had a bad day. The hotel doesn't open its restaurant on Sunday nights which they don't bother to advertise. Checking out on Monday morning took a while as the receptionist was involved in some long phone call about a staff matter. The room was okay.

Rooms were very well equiped (e.g. all the usual plus an ipod dock) and with very modern decor, spotless and a great price.
Attention to detail by the cleaners was great - female sanitary needs were noticed and extra sanitary bags were provided for without needing to ask.
The meals ordered in the resaurant were fantastic!! I would return to Parkes just to order the food again. Amazing chef!!
