We stayed two nights with Laraine and Colin and were upgraded to a large room with a spa bath and then another little bedroom with a bunk bed, which we didn't use. I think they were decorating one of the other rooms at the time, so we were offered this one, and we were more than happy.
We didn't see much of Colin, but Laraine was so friendly and helpful, just like chatting with a favourite Aunty! The breakfast was as bountiful as you can get, and the choice was incredible, especially as Laraine makes it herself as she chats away to you from the kitchen.
The B&B has a really welcoming homely feel about it, and the stained glass is beautiful. We felt thoroughly at peace and relaxed during our stay, and we actually liked the Hamilton area better than Newcastle itself!
Recommended for just about any traveller of any age. If you want shiny corporate hostelry with gym and business centre, go elsewhere, but if you want to actually enjoy a stay away from home, then definately go here.
