...... friends who live in the most magnificent house, luxuriously appointed and cited in the most stunning established gardens. We arrived early (three hours early) but that didn't rattle our hosts, Chris and David. Chris welcomed us warmly and abandoned her gardening to orientate us to her and David's superb home. Then she sent us off with a list of her 'most favourite things to do in Bathurst', which included some excellent and reliable dining suggestions. No surprise, as it turns out Chris is quite the foodie with a local and national reputation as an accomplished cook. I can't wait to go back and participate in one of her cooking classes. We enjoyed free run of the house and gardens, including the kitchen (oh...my ... God... the kitchen) where we hung out with our hosts whilst they prepared us a delicious and satisfying breakfast (fresh fruit salad, fruit compotes, youghurts, cereals and a choice of cooked options) not to mention the copious cups of tea and coffee (after a few too many glasses of the local reds the night before!!). If you are serious about your 'escapes', enjoy great food and love to be pampered in luxurious surroundings by perfect hosts, you can't go past Bishop's Court.

I've just had the most super stay at this gorgeous place with it's luxurious but casual ambience. The hard-working hosts and staff really know how to make you feel welcome, and that nothing is too much trouble, in fact any trouble at all. The house is immaculate and beautifully restored and decorated. As well as providing great accommodation the host is a dedicated foodie and superb cook so you can be thoroughly spoilt under the one roof. You couldn't do better than this hotel.

A perfect bed and breakfast, every expectation was by far exceeded and we were treated like royalty. The gardens are spectacular and the rooms immaculate, it was very enjoyable. The chocolate and port on arrival was great and nothing was too great a ask for the friendly staff. We'll be returning soon.
