Ok so going by previous reviews I should have stayed away, but you should always try something at least once.
Their websites say they are the best hotel in Albury, I'm sorry but this statement is false by a long way.
My room was large yes, but it is clearly dated. It seems as though there has been a soft refurbishment done, as in they have put new sheets on the beds and LCD tvs. That's where they stopped, the bathroom was like stepping back in time. Fighting with the shower curtain whilst trying to wash is always fun.
The minibar prices, oh my god. $5 for a little bottle of water.
The restaurant is nicely presented and the menu reads well, or maybe that is I read the menu well in that from the time I was shown to a table to the time of my order being taken was just on 20 minutes.
When my food came out it was nicely presented but the big test was the taste. Entree of tasting plate was fantastic, main course was veal rolled and stuffed with spinach and wrapped in procuitto. This looked great but unfortunately the veal had died a slow death and was extremely dry.
Not being from the area I had asked the waitress what local red wine she could recommend to which she replied I don't know anything about wine. Excellent.
Overall my experience at this hotel was average at best.
There are much better hotels in town
