I had a group of ten stay at the lodges backpacker rooms before and after walking the Milford Track, and if you wish to have a quiet, tranquil place for reflection, I believe the Lodge is ideal. OK, it is out of Te Anau, yes it is dated BUT it was clean, tidy, comfortable and very amenable host in Tania, right on the lakes edge with uninterupted views up the lake (full moon on our last night was to die for) and the quiet............
People, if you are not requiring hot and cold running waiters and maids, can cook and look after yourself and out to enjoy the world, do not hesitate to have a look at the lodge, I am glad I perservered after reading the previous reviews (is it the squeaky wheel syndrome ?) and will be back to re visit a great part of the world.
