Took a group of 15 to Red Tussock for a weekend and had ball. Plenty of room. Warm and cosy. Everything you could want for a gals weekend.
Was so nice to arrive on a late and cold friday afternoon and to find all our units had their heaters on. Excellent . Rennie you are doing a brilliant job.

We stayed in the second room in from the street and the internet was terrible. Owner waived all internet charges and threw in free breakfast. Very pleasant owner. Neat picnic area for wine and cheese and chatting. Rooms sorta small but very well furnished.

The Red Tussock was one of the best motels so far on our trip. Spacoius nd very well appointed unit; very clean and good service (we were there for three nights). Prices are absolutely ok.The host (Rennie) was very friendly and extremely helpful an all his recommendations were worth their weight in gold (be it for a restaurant or activities such as a cruise on the lake or our trip to Milford Sound). One hour internet was free which is fair enough., So, all in all, if you go to Te Anau this is certainly a very good place to stay.

We had the end Unit #1 and although it was close to the road it was very quiet and did not affect our sleep. It has a lovely alcove in the kitchen with large windows. We found the staff to be friendly and even let us use their washer and dryer as the guest ones were all in use. They had also prebooked our trips to Doubtful and Milford Sounds. The only negative was, we stayed for three nights and it didn't appear that any vaccuming was done.
A nice walk along the lake takes you to town where there is a large selection of good restaurants.
