Yet again we were confronted by the infuriating habits of unpowered cheap campers from Wicked, Jucy and Escape, with sliding doors that slam loudly shut. For some bizarre reason people using these campers can't get all their stuff in one sock when preparing for bed, and have to open and slam these doors numerous times before finally settling down. I've never heard the like in my life. We requested a position away from these wagons and were again directed to a site in the thick of them. After further negotiation we got a tent site near other tents, but the area soon filled up with wagons. We spent two nights at this well-appointed park. The facilities were great. I stayed here in 1998 and it has changed out of sight for the better. Great location within walking distance of the lake and town centre and driving distance to Milford Sound.

My wife and I camped here over New Year. Was a bit expensive for a campsite but the facilities looked ultra modern and were excellent. Found the unisex showers and toilets a little strange. Our tent site was a good size and the camp location is ideal for the town and lake. With so many natural wonders on your door step this is a great place to stay.

Really can recommend this - stay in a self contained unit and enjoy the freedom!

Unlike our previous two nights in the Catlins the first thing we did when we arrived here and had set up was have showers. They were glorious. The facilities here are outstanding and the campground is small so we had no issues with using the kitchen etc.
Small sites and we didn't get a choice but didn't care too much. Also the most expensive campground we stayed in $48 per night but it's right on the lake edge and we enjoyed it immensely.
