We stayed over at the Asure Amber Court Motel for four nights over the Christmas/New Year break and had a great time. Our room consisted of a Queen sized bed, a bathroom and a living room/kitchenette. All were extremely clean.

On arrival, we were welcomed by Craig and Jill who gave us an overview of the Te Anau region and listed many nearby daywalks. One of the recommended walks was the Key Summit which provided panoramic views of the mountains and a lovely alpine nature walk at the top.

We were able to cook quite a bit for breakfast and dinner using the provided pots and pans. The key features were the stovetop (2 elements) the microwave, a selection of pots and pans, a mini-bar fridge and dishes/cultery. The room was cleaned daily, and the dish-towels, tile floor and countertops were was also tidied up by the maid.

The location is with all the other motels in the area and is about a 15 minute walk to the shops/restaurants. It's about a 5-7 minute walk to Lake Te Anau.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and would be happy to come back in our next stay.

The outside appearance of the motel was clean and neat but dated which made me feel apprehensive. However the room was refurbished and was impeccably clean and very comfortable. The beds were excellent. Water pressure was not good in the shower but they may not have control over this. I would definitely recommend this motel.

I read the reviews before this one and am quite perplexed about the negative ones. Having travelled in NZ for 3 weeks now, this has to be the best motel (for the price) we have stayed at. A lovely warm welcome from the owner who went over activity choices with us and gave us some inside knowledge for things to see on the way to Milford. The room is spacious and modern, great big tv with movies and sports which is great to relax after a day's sightseeing on one of the sounds. It's got tub chairs, a table and 2 more chairs to have your meals at and the kitchen has everything you need. The bathroom is spacious and the shower strength good. The place is very quiet at night and I had a perfect night's sleep with my other half in the super king bed. No complaints about this place at all and am so glad I chose it for 4 nights of my NZ adventure.

We stayed here before and after completing the Milford Track. Te Anau and this hotel are great places to do that. They were very friendly and helpful and stored our extra belongings and car for us while we were away on the 4 day trek.
The facilities are great - good size rooms and nicely furnished.
If you are an animal lover you will love this place - they have two gorgeous cats that are very happy for a cuddle!
I couldn't recommend this place more highly!
