It was simply the most beautiful experience from the moment we walked in the door. The perfect boutique hotel. The view from the bath through shutters to the magnificent bedroom complete with fireplace, plush carpet, designer furniture & discreet lighting, we couldn't have asked for more.
The bar downstairs was a delight, guests & local Queenstown residents making for a fantastic atmosphere. Dinner in the restaurant was some of the best Thai we have ever had.
It was a magical stay & we couldn't recommend it more highly. Counting the days till we are lucky enough to return to The Spire & it's fabulous staff.

Room Tip: The rooms on the rear side of the hotel get the morning sun, so breakfast on the balcony with sun fi...

Located down a small lane and surrounded by bars and no views.
Rooms were nice enough but the bar staff were very arrogant and even though they advertised no pets there was a gentleman with a dog in the bar

“Love this hotel!!!”

Arrived last minute when we were let down in Wanaka. We had intended having three days in Wanaka at the Lakeside Apartments (read review) and two nights at Eichartds in Queenstown. We believed Eichartds was full so rang the Spire for two nights. What a find. From the minute we arrived we felt privileged to be there. It is quiet and unassuming in the centre of Queenstown. Excellent staff, young, friendly and attentive. This place is discreet, quiet and boutique. Great location and so unpretentious but incredibly comfortable. Instant obliging service that could not be faulted. We requested breakfast earlier than scheduled hours but pre ordered and enjoyed a breakfast of the finest and freshest ingredients served fast and conveniently so we could get to the ski fields early. When we asked what time we had to check out, we were advised, whenever it suited us and when we advised that we were moving to Eichardts (read review), we were advised to just leave our bags and they would be transferred for us. We love this hotel and will return!!! It is our No 1 in Queenstown. We have stayed elsewhere on previous trips but nothing compares. The room was spacious with large balcony which overlooked rooftops to the lake. Fresh towels night and morning and all the little touches, half bottle of Moet, chocolates, fresh fruit. But what we liked the most was that it was quiet, friendly and unpretentious but at the same time offering first class facilities and service. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Absolutely everything about this hotel was superb. I stayed here with a friend to have a little getaway and enjoy all that queenstown has to offer, But barely wanted to leave the hotel!

With a fireplace, Plasma Tv, Amazing king size bed and instant room service at the click of a button you were made to feel like royalty. Everything from the down stairs restaurant, the breakfast selections brought to your room, and the wines available was presented to perfection.

A 10 out of 10 for the spire leaving nothing but fond memories for an amazing holiday.

“A perfect experience from start to finish.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2011

I cannot say enough about The Spire. The service was beyond phenomenal --unreal even. From the owners to the front desk managers to the bartenders every single person was friendly, extremely helpful, and proud of Queenstown and what it has to offer (all recommendations were excellent). Every single thing we needed was taken care of even before we asked. The service was not the only wonderful quality - the entire experience was outstanding. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Queenstown walking distance from everything. (We were psyched we chose to stay at The Spire over a luxury resort outside of town because we found Queenstown well worth exploring). The Spire is both sexy and modern while also being casual and comfortable. Every last detail is perfection from the gorgeous furniture to the flat screens and spacious bathrooms. It is obvious that every single piece was picked with care. This hotel is an absolute MUST if you are going to Queenstown.
