Arrived last minute when we were let down in Wanaka. We had intended having three days in Wanaka at the Lakeside Apartments (read review) and two nights at Eichartds in Queenstown. We believed Eichartds was full so rang the Spire for two nights. What a find. From the minute we arrived we felt privileged to be there. It is quiet and unassuming in the centre of Queenstown. Excellent staff, young, friendly and attentive. This place is discreet, quiet and boutique. Great location and so unpretentious but incredibly comfortable. Instant obliging service that could not be faulted. We requested breakfast earlier than scheduled hours but pre ordered and enjoyed a breakfast of the finest and freshest ingredients served fast and conveniently so we could get to the ski fields early. When we asked what time we had to check out, we were advised, whenever it suited us and when we advised that we were moving to Eichardts (read review), we were advised to just leave our bags and they would be transferred for us. We love this hotel and will return!!! It is our No 1 in Queenstown. We have stayed elsewhere on previous trips but nothing compares. The room was spacious with large balcony which overlooked rooftops to the lake. Fresh towels night and morning and all the little touches, half bottle of Moet, chocolates, fresh fruit. But what we liked the most was that it was quiet, friendly and unpretentious but at the same time offering first class facilities and service. Can't recommend it highly enough.
