“Very good stay, breathtaking views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

Lovely accommodation in Queenstown, with remarkable views of the aptly named Remarkables and the lake view (hence the name Queenstown Lakeview Holiday Park) was just as magnificent. Good prompt service, nice upstairs 1 bedroom tourist flat and beds that give a relatively good sleep. Great location, within walking distance to the awesome Mini Golf course, and the Skyline Gondolas too (in fact the closest accommodation to these). Restaurants and shops are also just a short walk away. Overall a nice stay, highly recommended, definite value for money. A happy customer. :)

“Cost more than it was worth”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

Stayed here in a tent over Christmas, having prebooked for 4 nights as we thought accommodation in Queenstown would be hard to get. Within about an hour we decided to shorten our stay to 3 nights, partly because of this place, partly because Queenstown just seemed very artificial after all the other places we'd been.

We paid NZ$45 a night, the most we paid anywhere in NZ, and then found out showers were $2 per 6min (for hot water - cold is free if you can handle it, but it is cold), laundry $4 for washes and $4 for drying. It seemed a bit of an affront given the high cost of the sites, which are quite close together as others have indicated. We had massive jumbo-sized family tents right on either side and could hear our neighbours' conversations taking place.

For some reason this also seemed to be a very noisy campground. It was just little things, not out of control late night revellers. The crowd here seemed different to other places we stayed, and it felt like people made very little effort to keep the noise down for their neighbours. Campervan owners would slam doors (this can be done more quietly than it usually is), yell out across the campground at inappropraite hours, people would stand around chatting outside your tent at midnight or conduct loud mobile phone phone conversations - that sort of thing. We had to use our ear plugs every night. That's obviously beyond the control of the proprietors, but I feel it worth mentioning.

The location is undeibaly excellent, being about 5min from the centre of Queenstown, and about 3min from the gondola, so it was nice not to have to worry about parking the car, and we felt we could come and go from town as we pleased.

The communal kitchen is good and has plenty of tables and sinks etc. This was useful at times when the weather was poor. The bathrooms are of good standard and were well kept, but again, paying $2 for some hot water on top of my $45 - not amusing.

“Overpriced mud hole (powered site)”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2010

We have choosen this Holiday Park for an overnight stay with our CV because of its location and the discount for Kiwi-Card owners. But that was about it. Althought being high priced anyway, the showers were 2$ extra (we never had to pay extra in our 4 weeks roundtrip!). Sites were packed very tight (don't even think about any divider) and were on withered grass or mud. Instead of lakeview, campers most likely only get toiletview. Being fair, I have to say that facilities were very new and well maintained. "IAC"-WiFi and Internetkiosks are available (computers seem to be offline after 9 p.m. - took me 2$ to find out...). The positive thing is of course the location: You are only few footsteps away from the Gondola and the city center.

“DO NOT RECOMMEND”

the only positive feedback i have for this park was its location. handy to central queenstown. on the other hand i was angered with the quality of this park, prices did not reflect its facilities... you pay a hefty price for a dirt powered site, be sure to carry plenty of coin as u have to pay for a timed shower, laundry facilities expensive and unconventional (1 load of washing = 4 drying cycles totaling $16), powered sites are jam packed and crowded, staff are rude and not helpful. dont ruin ur queenstown experience by staying at this park unless totally necassary.

“this park makes me angry!!!!!!!!”

Terrible. Muddy, cramped and dirty to sum it up. Staff were unfriendly, we were parked in a mud pile, there were a thousand other campervans. Price was high and then on top of that you had to pay for a shower....bathroom facilities were always dirty everytime i visited, and showers were especially dirty.
