“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

This is one of the best apartments I have ever stayed in. Sure you can sometimes hear through the walls but take a look at the view. It is quiet at night, You will sleep well. The owner will help you with your luggage and anything else you need. I am hard to please but this is one I would recommend. I would stay there again.

“Lakeside views only 5 mins drive from town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

Having spent many long hours reviewing apartments in Queenstown prior to our arrival, we were reasonably happy with our choice of BreakFree The Point for a 5 night stay for our family of four in a 2 bedroom apartment.
GOOD: fantastic views from large windows and small balcony over the lake to the Kelvin peninsular, reasonably spacious townhouse style apartment with undercover car parking. Well equipped kitchen, lounge had leather sofa and 2 chairs and a full size dining table to seat 6. Downstairs were two bedrooms, the main with a view over the lake. The apartment was serviced on the 3rd day of our stay. Although located on the low side of Frankton Road, traffic noise could not be heard in the apartment.
BAD: very steep driveways between the apartments to negotiate both by foot or in the car. You need to be very fit - no good for anyone infirm or with any disability. The apartment's balcony was disappointingly far oo small, could only seat 2 people and would have loved to have spent more time out there soaking in the sunshine and the views. Fairly expensive at $298 per night but maybe this is because of peak holiday time in Queenstown (Christmas to New Year). Too far to walk to Queenstown but not a problem if you have a car.
OVERALL: not quite as plush as we had hoped, but still worthy of being rated as a 4 star apartment and the uninterrupted 180 degree lake views made up for those things that did disappoint. If only that balcony had been twice the size it was!!!

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010

No service. Stayed there for 4 nights on a studio room. Not even a single day did they do housekeeping. Reception closes at 5 pm. Location not suitable unless you have a car. Rooms located downhill, so it is a steep walk. No bus stop nearby.

“Great views, great space, great value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

We had two families with young kids stay in a 4 br townhouse which was the standard 3 br townhouse plus the downstairs studio which is normally rented separately.

Upstairs was the open plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area. Plenty of space of all of us with views to die for. I loved finishing off a day's skiing by pulling the lounge up to the picture window to drink tea and watch the lake and mountains change colour with the setting sun.

Bedrooms were clean, comfortable and spacious, providing ample space for the kids to play. Bathrooms were clean and spacious with great water pressure.

Kitchen was suitable, though the dishwasher was temperamental and some of the cooking implements could do with updating, but overall it was most satisfactory.

This location isn't a resort hotel. There's no room service and is run by an on-site manager who is usually available and always helpful. We wanted somewhere comfortable, clean, and spacious with self-catering facilities. This property ticked all our boxes.

“Unhappy with service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

Broken fridge shelf, dirty bedcover.dirty diswasher, one bedroom with out a heater, minus 4 out side. Never answered the recetion phone. Lady in the office to busy with her children to give the guests any service. Had to wait 2 hours for bed cover to be changed, and had to fix the fridge myself. would not recomend this place.

We always appreciate receiving constructive comments which helps us to maintain and improve our standards as well as meet and exceed guest expectations.
We thank you for bringing the apartment issues to my attention. I have investigated the issues raised and have noted the following:
I have located the housekeeping checklist that is completed prior to the arrival of any guest. There was a comment on it regarding the need for the housekeepers to return to the room and reclean the dishwasher. This was not done and is a failure of us.
The stain that was on the duvet was not noted, I believe that may have been because the housekeepers would have presumed that the bedding was clean. Following the departure of any guest, all bedding is removed and sent to a dry cleaning company. It returns to the property, clean, pressed, pre wrapped and ready to be placed on the bed. I cannot explain why this stain has appeared on the bedding, only that it may have been transferred and/or not correctly cleaned at the dry cleaners.
In regards to the other issues you have raised. all units are provided with one clothes horse.
The replacement of the refridgerator should have been picked up by housekeeping department, this was not done. i apologise for this.
The issue you have raised in regards to heating is as follows; This particular apartment is the only apartment to have a heat pump installed. These heat pumps generate more heat than all other forms of heating in the other apartments. Along with the heat pump, there is a night store heater located on the wall and a heater that is located downstairs. There is also additional underfloor heating in the bedrooms that was available for your usage.

Unfortunately, i was absent from the property for personal reasons and the lady in question had to cover me urgently. We unfortunately had no other staff from other properties, who could assist. I am pleased that she did pass on your issues to the housekeeping department and also personally followed up with several of your additional requests.

I can also report that following your issues with the apartment , steps have been taken to address what you experienced. I believe that the cleanliness of a hotel room is of the utmost importance when presenting the room to the public. It is evident from you experience that the housekeepers who cleaned the room, prior to your arrival failed to carry out the duties that are expected of them.
You may or may not be aware that the housekeeping in this property is outsourced.
In light of the problem I have given this company notice.

Once again, We do thank you for taking the time to post your comments on Trip Advisor. We do take all of your comments on board and value your feedback as an integral part of our continuing aim to maximise service to our guests.
