OK, it's basic but very good value and very clean. Great location close to the centre of town (uphill), good sized clean rooms and very friendly service. Very cheap for Queenstown considering the location.

This was the Best hotel room in New Zealand we stayed in . We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and 4 days. A Perfect room for us - the honeymoon couples. And I am sure it will prove to be perfect room for anyone coming to Queenstown. Also it is situated very near to the downtown, so very easy to locate for travelers. The room was a wooden roofed hut shaped room. I entered it and I was actually wow... it looked so romantic cosy and b'ful. It was quite spacious, it had 2 beds, tables, chairs. There was a small private lobby next to the room, where 2 chairs were placed and you can enjoy the nature and beauty of the Queenstown city from that lobby. And what to say about the view from that room. We spend hours sitting in front of the window of our room ...looking at the beautiful Queenstown lake. Superb view from the room. One night it rained, and the noise made by the rain drops falling on the wooden roof of the room was a really good experience. The room was very clean and well maintained. The room service was very efficient. The breakfast served in the hotel was also good. They served wide variety of fruits, salads, breads in the breakfast. The hotel staff was very cooperative. They gave us all the information about the activities in Queenstown and also helped us choosing the best ones available and they even booked them for us. They had all the tie ups with the activity providers. The shuttle that took us to the activity spot came at the Hotel premises and picked us from there to the spot which was very convenient for us. We had a very good experience in the Heartland Hotel and we would recommend anyone going to Queenstown to stay in this hotel.

We just stayed there for one night, but it was a nice experience, we reached there late in the night and staff was there to help us out in reservation of room and help us with our luggage to the room. Room was nice and spacious. Parking facility is also good. Overall very good experience. Rooms are also not too pricey. Good value for money.

The rooms here were a good size and comfortable although the bathroom was little more than a plastic cubicle which was disappointing and although the room was serviced each day amenities were not replenished and the cups / glasses not washed.
I stayed in a room overlooking the road and it was very noisy, even with the windows closed.
Wifi was $5 for 15mb or $20 for 3 hours / 50mb and as I was staying for 3 nights I asked whether there was a longer term package and was told no. I purchased a $20 ticket and the very next day the note was offering 24hrs of unlimited usage for $10 and more lover term packages. I felt like I had been completely ripped off.
