Took a "suite offer" from an email advert..... offered lake views as a part of the deal. We were on the 4th floor and our lake view was of a large flat rooftop with plastic vents adorning it. If you walked from the room across this large concrete roof (about 15m) you could peer over the buttress and see the lake. However from our suite we really could only see the mountains and the sky!!
Rooms were clean and the bed and linen were AOK. The TV was an old Sony with a picture tube at the back - 1990's.....
Sadly the hotel is weary and in need of a major renovation. The enrance foyer area is the best part of he hotel......the corridors are musty and dated.
Proximity to Queenstown Central is great; we had to park our car across the street as the hotel parking is limited.
We departed day 2 and found much nicer accomodation for the same rate ($199/nite) 3 minutes along and up the hill - beautiful views, more modern, etc etc.
