“Overpriced and in need of a spruce up!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Website made the place look very nice, but the reality was very different. Old decor and old tv, the staff wouldn't book us a restaurant reservation in town because they had a restaurant on site. They did provide a room for us to lock up our bikes though and the wine in the bar was nice! We paid the same as we would have at the Copthorne in Queenstown (was fully booked) and the Copthorne was far superior in standard. Won't be staying again - the drive back and forward to queenstown is a pain and the hotel shuttle finished at 10pm.

“Not bad for the price.. we happily stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

we stayed here a couple weeks ago and enjoy it.
The rooms are large, good heater, good size TV, electric blankets.
as to some other reviews, we didn't have a issue with our door or service. We did do our research before we stayed for location etc for the city etc, also we have been told if you did buy a ticket to the snow fields they WOULD pick you up the front of this hotel (but as we had a car we didn't use it, this was stated from someone who worked for Coronet Peak Ski Field)
we used the strike bowling in the hotel which was great.
The price was right (we paid $90NZD per night). Gave as more money to spend on other things!

“Would not go back! They left our room door open after cleaning!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

• Staff gave several different answers depending on who you asked, and didn't know what they were talking about

• Rooms are shabby (especially the toilet which the button sticks)

• Cant adjust heating so room goes from freezing to boiling. In the snow not the best option

• After cleaning first day our door was left ajar (door needed to be slammed to close properly)...

• Restaurant food was surpassingly good, even though room was empty and had to go to reception to get someone to serve us.

So value for money was ok, but was not at all what was expected. Booked this hotel as part of a ski package deal... only to find when we arrived that yes we were closer to coronet peak, but no they did not offer services to the mountain and to buy tickets to use the snow bus would have to go back into town (a hotel next door offered to see tickets but wasn't open when we needed them). So ended up having to go back into town to come back out. Was ridiculous.

Stay in town and save yourselves the hassle if you don't have a car!

“Seen better days.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

We thought this hotel has seen better days, the decor is getting a bit old and shabby. We thought it would be busier. When we asked about a special at the restaurant that was advertised on a menu, he didn't know what we were talking about and had to go ask. On two other occasions the staff did not know what they were talking about. It was very reasonable but is quite a way out of town and for a little bit extra I would pay to stay in town.

“Love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

This is a good reasonably priced hotel, our room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable.

I checked in on 5th July. We were there for 4 nights. And the owner of the hotel by the name of david was really helpful and friendly. The staff there always there to assist you. I really did enjoyed my stay there.

And there's a bowling alley. I played 2 games with my cousin and aunt for only $12. Which is cheap! And we socialise with the local people.

I went there during winter. Ski and snowboarding at Coronet Peak which is like 500m away frm the hotel.

We had lunch buffef at Gondola. The staff by the name of Rachel was helpful. She make reservations for us very quick. Very attentive. Thank you Coronet Peak Hotel for the good services we got from you guys.

Will defo come back with my boyfriend and families. :)
