We recently stayed one night at Bella Vista at the beginning of a magical stay in Dunedin. The room was compact and had everything we could possibly need. It was extremely clean and comfortable.
Surprisingly, even though it was the smallest room-type, there was also plenty of room, largely due to the well-designed space.
The hosts, Robyn and John, absolutely deserve the highest accolades. Nothing was too much to ask for assistance with. And they did it all with a warm smile and friendly chatter. It is a welcoming environment for families and there is a distinct impression that these are hosts who really genuinely enjoy their role of providing a service to travellers.
Highly recommended. One day we will return. Many thanks.

Small... cosy? room, but EVERYTHING provided, right down to a deodoriser for the bathroom/loo.
Comfortable bed, electric blankets (nights can get cold down there)

Awesome place to be, Me and my family stayed for 2 days. Everything is so tidy and clean, very comfortable and feel just like home. Most important, is the host Robyn and John, very very nice people, very friendly and gave me lots of valuable advises for my 2 days tour. If you are planing go to Dunedin, you do not want to miss Bella Vista!

My 3 sisters & I (26-31yrs) enjoyed a beaut' stay at Bella Vista in Dunedin over the New Year.
Robyn was an awesome host; there to offer a smile, laugh and ideas during our short stay in the cool southern city. Easy to find, close to the main centre (10-15 minute walk for NYE celebrating in town!). Rooms are clean, beds comfy, bathroom roomy with really great shower. Room upstairs is great for a cuppa on the balcony in the arvo Dunedin sun! Quiet spot, short walk to nearby Dunedin gardens which are fantastic for some chill-time!!
(PS - Enjoy a drink at The Craic irish pub while you're in town!)
