My title may sound a little strange. I have thought a long time--nearly three years--before writing this review. The hotel itself is small and well managed. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was certainly adequate. The location is all one could ask for if one is working at the university, or if one wants to head into the city. My room was was well appointed and was certainly warm enough in an unusually chilly early summer.
However, I found it almost impossible to sleep there. I would take herbal sleeping pills and only manage a couple of hours before waking up and having to take more to get back to sleep. Jet-lag? Perhaps; but I am an experienced traveller. A colleague claimed he heard footsteps in his room. The evening before I left I was told that the hotel had previously been a hospice. That, in itlself, was not a concern for me. However, it seems that some echoes of the past linger on and can distract the living. It may sound New Age but I recommend a cleanse by someone who knows what they are doing.
If you are not psychic. Enjoy! This is a comfy and friendly boutique hotel.
