The website of this B&B generates very high expectations----which are not quite met by reality.
Panoramic mountain and seaviews are mentioned; seaviews are in fact minimal, but a race track is in full view from the sundeck. Not quite the rural atmosphere one is led to expect. Moreover, the owner keeps three old cars close to the house; not only a sorry view but guest parking becomes problematic....
The room is pleasant enough but does not really qualify as luxurious. The charge for wine was exorbitant--unfortunately, we had not thought of checking the cost in advance. We left feeling very disappointed; after touring the South Island for more than a month we feel we have more than enough comparative experience to conclude that the prices charged here are unjustifiably high--and by quite a margin, too.
