“It was so nice, I stayed twice!”

I had booked this hotel on Hostelworld and it was under a different name [Hotel SO] - when I arrived in Christchurch the taxi driver kindly corrected me with regards the name.

I had been staying in fairly basic hostel accommodation, so planned on treating myself with the All Seasons. The free wifi and en-suite had really attracted me, so the cost was worth it.

On arrival the reception was excellent, quick and professional. The foyer is very modern and has a bar/restaurant which looked fantastic. The rooms vary in size, but my first room was large and the en-suite was superb. There are numerous gadgets in the room - mood lighting to play with - radio/alarm built into the bed etc. All very nice. The wifi wasn't working properly for me, so reception went out of their way to help. It was resolved and I was happy.

After my initial stay I then travelled down to Queenstown and Milford Sound, then onto Franz Josef Glacier. From there I got the train through Arthur's Pass and completed a massive loop back into Christchurch. This is why I stayed twice at the All Seasons. On my second stay, my room was smaller and windowless, but very comfortable - the beds [IMO] are lush!

“Great little place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

We stayed here whilst holidaying in Christchurch and loved the quirkiness of the place! The rooms are very small, but if you haven't got many bags and like to stay somewhere with a bit of character then this is the place for you! My partner was like a child playing with all the different lighting options and loved the wake up alarm when the lights gradually come on, like the sun would come up, very quirky! The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful and give you lots of advice on the area. We stayed here just before the earthquake and hope that the hotel hasn't sustained to much damage after it. Thank you for a lovely stay!

“A bit cramped, but loved it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

Stayed before the earthquake when it was still HotelSo. The rooms are very small (smaller than a cruise ship cabin), but every bit of space is optimized. I would not suggest staying in a room with someone you are not intimate with, as the bathroom has nothing more than a sliding glass door to seperate it from the rest of the room, and you can hear everything. Still, iPod docks in the room, beautiful, ambient music and faux sunrise and sunset in the rooms in lieu of alarms (optional). the restaraunt was quite good. about 4 public computers for use, but were usually in use. The design was really quite clever, and we really enjoyed it. Sooo close to EVERYTHING! Hope it survived the earthquake. Truly a unique property.

“post-modern rooms, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2011

Stayed here earlier this year, before the earthquake. For the price, decent hotel, but well-placed for sightseeing around the area. Good Mexican, Indian and European food available in the vicinity. Not sure of its status post the earthquake.

“Brilliant, spectular, well worth it”

We stayed here at the end of our New Zealand trip before flying back to Australia.
The light settings in the hotel were magically and made it quite nice.
Our travel agent accidentally booked a twin room but we coped being in seperate beds.
We ate in the restuarant down in the lobby which was beautiful, good food, and fantastic service. I recommend anyone to stay here.
